1. EU Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC
Introduction
On June 30, 2009, the European Union issued 2009/48/EC, Toy Safety Directive, referred to as TSD, which replaced the old Toy Directive 88/378/EEC, and the new directive took effect on July 30, 2013.
Scope of application
Products designed for use or play by children under the age of 14.
CE
Toy products must have the CE mark to enter the EU market

2014/30/EU Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC), live toys must comply with this directive
2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive, toys powered by alternating current must comply with this directive
 
3. Declaration of Conformity VS CE Certificate
The Declaration of Conformity DOC is required, while the CE certificate is not required.
 
4. EU Authorized Representative
Toy products that are not manufactured in the EU must be represented by the importer, distributor or third party as an authorised representative.
