Code of Federal Regulations
The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act is the basic law on food (including food additives) and samples in the United States. In accordance with the requirements of this law, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has formulated several regulations in detail. The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a compilation of regulations published in Federal Register publications by executive departments and agencies of the United States federal government. The first chapter of Title 21 is a regulation within the scope of FDA. Each chapter (Chapter) is divided into a number of parts (Parts), and then divided into subsections (Subparts), sections (Sections). Food additives are mainly concentrated in Parts 70~74 and 170~199, of which the parts and sections related to polymer materials that come into contact with food are as follows:
