The EU's rapid warning system for non-food consumer products, RAPEX, is established in accordance with EU 92/59/EC and 2001/95/EC. The purpose is to quickly exchange and transmit product safety information within the EU. RAPEX has been published online every week since February 9, 2004. The exposed products are produced in EU member states and imported. The exposed content of the system includes: product information, defect reasons, measures to be taken, origin, etc.

The EU Tobacco Products Directive, TPD, was established in accordance with EU 2001/37/EC. On February 26, 2014, the European Parliament formally approved the revised Tobacco Products Directive (2014/40/EU), which replaced the previous version of the Directive. The new version of the TPD Directive came into effect on May 20, 2016. For the first time, e-cigarettes were included in the control scope of the Tobacco Products Directive. Among them, Chapter 20 clearly sets out requirements for the listing and sales of electronic cigarettes.
