Latvia plans to ban all electronic tobacco flavorings

Latvia has its own requirements when translating the TPD Directive into domestic regulations, mainly including the following aspects
• Control requirements for 0 mg nicotine electronic cigarette
No registration is required, but other controls are the same as those of nicotine containing electronic cigarettes, including ingredients, labels, compliance with CLP regulations, etc.
• Flavor display restrictions
It is prohibited to use any words, symbols, names, trademarks, graphics or other signs on the product packaging to publicize and display the taste, smell, flavoring or other additives contained in the product, or to indicate that the product does not contain flavoring or additives.
• Flavor additive restrictions
• Do not add nicotine enhancing additives to tobacco oil, such as menthol and geraniol. The Health Inspection Bureau issues a reference list of these related substances, which is detailed in the following list
• Latvia has formulated a draft law (867/Lp13), which plans to ban all flavorings used in electronic tobacco oil (including menthol and its analogues, geraniol), and is currently formulating a transition period.
